Below is an interview I [Kyle, or  SSPzKorps@aol.com] did with my Grandfather,
Private First Class Kenneth Seitz
United States Marine Corps (Retired)

Kyle: What year did you join the Marines?
Marine: I got into the Marines February 22, 1943
Kyle: How old ere you when you joined the Marine Corps?
Marine: I was 18 years old.
Kyle: What where the different areas you were stationed in?
Marine: New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China, Bougainville, Consolidation of Northern Solomons, Guam, Marianas Islands, Okinawa, Ryukyu, and Guadacanal.
Kyle: What will you never forget about being in the Marines?
Marine: I'll never forget the bugs, snakes, bombings, machine gun fire, and the Kamikaze's at Okinawa.
Kyle: Where did you sleep?
Marine: We usually slept on the ground.
Kyle: What kinds of foods did you eat during the war?
Marine: We ate C-Ration, rice, and fish.
Kyle: What kind of sicknesses did the men usually get?
Marine: They got Malaria, Dingue, and Jungle rot.
Kyle: What parts of the Marines did you serve in?
Marine: I was in the 6th Marine Division, I was Infantry, and Artillery.  Before I was send to the Pacific I was with the Military Police.
Kyle: What was your rank?
Marine: My rank was Lance Corporal.
